March for Jesus Belfast Confirms Safe Event Planning with PSNI and Belfast City Council

Organisers confirm coordination with police and council to ensure March for Jesus Belfast and other 16 May city events proceed safely with no conflicts.

March for Jesus UK and Ireland confirms that comprehensive planning has been undertaken with Belfast City Council and PSNI to ensure March for Jesus Belfast and concurrent city events on 16 May proceed safely and without disruption.

"Coordination is key to a successful day for everyone," said John Ahern, organiser of March for Jesus Belfast. "We've worked with Belfast City Council, PSNI, and other stakeholders to ensure all events on 16 May can proceed smoothly. PSNI has been instrumental in liaising between all event organisers to map out timing, routes, and safety measures. We're confident in the planning that's been put in place."

Community Commitment:

March for Jesus Belfast is explicitly non-political and welcomes participation from all churches, denominations, and individuals regardless of background. The event is characterised by worship, prayer, and positive public testimony to Christian faith.

Comprehensive planning with Belfast City Council and PSNI has ensured safe management of all 16 May events. PSNI has coordinated with all event organisers scheduled for the city centre—including the Palestinian Solidarity parade—to confirm routes, manage traffic, prevent crowd overlap, and ensure public safety. Key measures in place:

Coordinated routes and timing managed by PSNI and council
Staggered event schedules confirmed through PSNI liaison
Trained stewards at March for Jesus Belfast
Qualified paramedics on-site for health and safety
PSNI traffic management and coordination through 16 May

The march will begin at Ormeau Park at 2:00 PM on 16 May and proceed to Belfast City Hall for a concluding time of worship and prayer from 3:00–5:00 PM. All participants are encouraged to conduct themselves in a spirit of peace and respect.

"This is a significant event for the city," John concluded. "We're grateful for PSNI's professionalism in bringing all parties together. Belfast is big enough for everyone to gather peacefully and celebrate what matters to them. That's what the planning shows—respectful coexistence."
